Pagan Night Out: April is Earth Day Month!

Pagan Night Out will meet at the Fountain, our "new home" which serves great food and drinks in a friendly atmosphere. This is a chance to meet new friends, talk with old ones and network a bit within the pagan community. There's no agenda or real purpose to the event itself, although people who attend can always plan other events on their own. The last event co-sponsored by Albany's PNO was the Witches' Masquerade Ball in 2009.

Also, just a reminder that Earth Day is coming soon, on April 22nd. Do you have any plans for observing Earth Day? I like to clean up trash in the neighborhood, and do some guerilla gardening. I think modern pagans should try to honor the Earth in some way on this special day.

So we're happy to be having Pagan Night Out at our new venue, The Fountain on New Scotland Avenue. We don't have a "usual spot" but we'll try to sit near the front. No real agenda, just a way to get together with local pagans. Maybe we can talk about some future activities like Pagan Pride Day or other public events.

Pagan Night Out: Last Month at Washington Tavern! (New Venue)

This month's Pagan Night Out will be held at the Washington Tavern for the last time! Hope to see you there this Friday night.

Beginning in September, Pagan Night Out will be held at the Fountain on New Scotland Avenue (right next door to Graney's). We are excited about this change in venue! The Fountain has a friendly atmosphere, fabulous food and great service! It is conveniently located ion the #13 bus route, and there is also ample parking. We'll continue to meet at 6:30 pm on the 13th of every month.

Hope you all will venture out to have a drink and some snacks with your local pagan community.

We're very excited to have Pagan Night Out on Friday the 13th! And of course we always look forward to the great beer selection and yummy food at the Washington Tavern. Hmm, what shall it be tonight? A Burger Melt? Macaroni and Cheese with Lobster? Chicken Wings and Pub Fries? Shepherd's Pie?

Todd, Sarah, Kate and I will be there tonight, and whoever else shows up. Hope to see you there!

Well, we didn't have very good attendance, perhaps because we were competing with a number of other seasonal events, (Roller Derby Halloween event, Zombie Film Festival, Harry Potter Ritual etc.), plus it was rainy and windy. We had fun regardless. We're planning to try again next year and really hope more people will attend!

Witches' Masquerade Ball, October 24th!

Silver Bough Productions and Pagan Night Out are delighted to present the first annual Witches' Masquerade Ball!

This festive seasonal event will be held the evening of October 24th from 8 pm until 11 pm at the Woman's Club of Albany, right on Washington Park at 725 Madison Avenue. This stunning Edwardian mansion is a perfect setting for our ball, and we look forward to enjoying its beauty and grandeur.

Costumes are required! To inspire your creativity, we'll be awarding prizes in several costume categories: Most Original, Most Glamourous, and Best Couple.

Light refreshments will be served. Music will be provided by DJ Todd of Xtreme Entertainment for your listening and dancing pleasure.

We'd like to ask attendees to bring donations for the St. James Food Pantry; please bring some canned goods, or you can make a cash donation at the event.

Tickets are $13 in advance and may be purchased via Paypal at flamekeepers at msn dot com, through October 13th. (Be sure to include your mailing address). Tickets may also be purchased at the door for $17.

Greetings and blessing of the late summer harvest!

Welcome to the Blog for Albany's Pagan Night Out. We meet every month on the 13th at 6:30 pm at the Washington Tavern on Western Avenue in Albany, NY. It's not formal or structured at all, although we usually try to sit near the front at the table by the window. We order up some beer and some food and talk about whatever we want! Hope to see you there sometime.

This blog will be a place to announce any additional activities, cancellations, or any concerns related to the PNO. For example, some of us are planning a Hallowe'en Ball in October; plans are being hatched, so watch this space for more details soon!
